Top Selling Cars In May 2011

Every month automakers publish their sales results broken down by models. There are no awards or bonuses assigned, to the average person anyway, but the accolade of having the best selling car in America will show up in future advertisements. Here are the top selling cars in May of 2011.

1. Ford F-Series
2. Chevrolet Silverado
3. Chevrolet Malibu
4. Nissan Altima
5. Ford Fusion
6. Ford Escape
7. Hyundai Sonata
8. Chevrolet Cruze
9. Ford Focus
10. Hyundai Elantra

Ford continues to dominate with its F-Series. That has been a consistent story for years. What has not been common is the lack of Japanese models in the top 10. The disasters in that country continue to hold their sales numbers back because of a lack of production. Still, it is good to see so many American makes on the list.
