It was not all that long ago that Lexus was a major player in the major luxury sedan market. However, times they have a-changed. Lexus has had a stretch of years made up of diminishing sales, while the luxury sedan market has lost its luster as gas prices have increased and shoppers’ disposable incomes have decreased.
However, Lexus is not giving up. The auto company is hoping to ride its new LS to future success. Though the new LS is based on the old LS, the new one contains no fewer than 3,000 new parts along with new sheet metal to take away the blandness that the old LS was somewhat known for.
Even less bland than the old LS is the new LS F Sport model. This car, according to Motor Trend, pumps a heavy dose of sportiness into the luxury sedan market. The F Sport comes fitted with 19-inch wheels, a lower ride weight, foglamps, aggressive front and rear bumpers and a 4.6-liter V-8 that generates 386 horsepower and 367-pound-feet of torque.
The LS F Sport’s interior contains many nice touches. The roof is Alcantara lined, while the sport steering wheel is covered with perforated leather. Aluminum trim can be found on the dashboard and around the pedals.
The base price of the 2013 Lexus 460 F Sport is $71,000.
