Heidi Hetzer is one ballsy 75-year-old woman. Already well known in certain circles for having raced in rallies around the globe for decades, Hetzer is now turning heads with her plan to race around the world in 2014 in a 1921 Hispano-Suiza, a car nearly two decades older than she is.
The global run traces the route that Clärenore Stinnes, the female who along with Carl-Axel Söderström were the first people to drive around the planet during a two-year drive stretching from 1927 to 1929. Of course, Hetzer’s car is old enough to have been Stinnes’ vehicle.
