Susan Docherty Saying Bye-Bye to GM

Susan Docherty, the president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, has announced that she will retire September 30 after working for General Motors for more than 27 years.

One of the leading female executives in the automotive world, Docherty has long been respected for the leadership she has shown and the success she has had while working in communications, sales and marketing, and service positions with General Motors in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Docherty says in her press release announcing her plans that she will use her retirement to “take a break, invest time in my family and chart a new course for my career.”

As of the time of this writing, General Motors has not yet named her successor.
